Explore, Discover, Connect
What if you could explore Japanese instead of memorizing it?

Traditional learning often presents kanji and vocabulary one by one.

Kanji Map takes a different approach.

Start with a kanji or word.
Follow what connects to it.
Discover another.
Then another.

As you explore, Japanese begins to appear not as a list of isolated things to memorize, but as a connected world of meaning.

That is Kanji Map.

Japanese is connected.
Why learn it as if it weren’t?

Kanji do not exist alone. They appear in words. Words connect to meanings. Meanings connect to other words and ideas.

Kanji Map was created around a simple idea:

If Japanese is naturally connected, learning it should allow you to see and explore those connections too.

About the Project
Who is behind Kanji Map?

Kanji Map is created and operated by Five Star Dolphins in Tokyo, Japan.

The project grew from years of experience teaching languages and thinking about a fundamental question:

How can language become something learners understand and use — rather than simply memorize?

Kanji Map applies that question to Japanese by making relationships between kanji, vocabulary, meanings, and ideas visible and explorable.
